Big Daddy is THE MAN! His restaurant is hospitable, tasty, and always hits the spot. Quite the dynamic duo between Mrs.Barbara and Big Daddy. Soul food done the right way

On our way to see Pluto, we happened across Big Daddy's. The smell of chicken and ribs on the smoker lured us in. We found ourselves welcomed by Big Daddy and his wife. With a display of foods that had my mouth watering. We ate delicious food on the patio and visited with fellow patrons and Big Daddy. The food was outstanding, the company unmatched, the setting unique. Definitely glad we stopped, and we hope to return!

Delicious home style cooked southern food. Dropped in during middle of the day and was given some of the best service I've had in a while by the owners of the restaurant. Ms. Patty in the back is said to know Martha Stewart personally, I'm not sure how true that is but I'll take it. Had some meatloaf, red beans and rice, and candy yams. Everything was amazing especially the red beans...and being Latin I know red beans really well. Two thumbs up, 5 stars, and 4 mics makes this one of the best local places to grab some home made food.

If This Gem was in NYC, There Would be Lines Around the Block!!!
We were driving from Memphis to NOLA taking the scenic highway 49E when we stopped in on Big Daddy's. We weren't even hungry, but for two northerners who love food, we had to stop and try it. We were met with true southern hospitality. The owner Barbara and her best friend were busy cooking and serving "Tuesdays Menu". It was fantastic! The menu changes daily. We ate the best fried chicken and sides we have ever had, and we had just driven from family in Memphis and Montgomery eating everywhere that looked good! To top it off Barbara included the most delicious candied yams that for dessert and a perfectly lightly sweetened large ice tea. This was packed to go, but we were welcome to eat at the counters. The price for two huge lunches was under $20! Last night we ate in a fancy, highly rated restaurant in New Orleans, yet all we can do is talk about lunch yesterday and the most charming, friendly and welcoming restaurant we have ever stopped at. We will be taking route 49 E whenever we are south from Memphis.
